The Walls

The hardest part so far has been waiting to do this! From the moment I conceived the shape I wanted to dance out to my shop and cut it out. But first ... of course, I had to acquire the trailer kit - the footers and foundation, take delivery of plywood and "sticks" - the deck or "slab" of this home away from home, and wire and bolt and undercoat the whole collection to make it ready for the walls. Done!

Well, sort of. The walls are made of three sheets of birch plywood - one three-quarter-inch thick center with quarter-inch "skins" on each side. The first step involved laying out the profile on a quarter-inch sheet and cutting it precisely with the router and skill saw, so it could serve as a template for the other five pieces. Transverse walls will square them up and anchor them in place. Watch this space for progress pictures! Here we go!
